How to flash Xiaomi Firmware/ROM

Step 1: Unlock Bootloader on Xiaomi Redmi

Step 2: How to install Xiaomi Redmi ROM via Miflash.

Step 1: If Fastboot firmware. The ext. must be tgz. If not. Rename it from .gz to .tgz. Extract it by WinRAR

Step 2: For Fastboot firmware. Download XiaomiFlash lastest. Extract tool after downloaded

Step 3: Open XiaoMiFlash.exe. Install driver if tool required. Press select and select to firmware/ROM folder what includes flash_all.bat

Step 4: Make sure your phone are unlocked bootloader. Or you must bring your phone to EDL mode (9008) to flash

Step 5: Bring phone to Fastboot mode by hold Power and Volume down for 5-10s. Release button when It show Fastboot

Step 6: Connect Phone to Computer. Press Refresh to scan device. If a device showed is Ok

Step 7: Tick clean all (very important). If not, your phone will LOCKED BOOTLOADER after flash done

Step 8: Press Flash and wait util it show success or any error

How to install ROM for xiaomi phones through TWRP.

Step 1: Download the ROM you want to install.

Step 2: After downloading the ROM, we proceed to copy it to the phone’s internal memory by connecting the phone to the computer to perform the copy.

Step 3: To install the ROM, you need to go to TWRP.

To get into TWRP, turn off the power, and hold the Power + Volume Up keys until you get into TWRP.

Step 4: In TWRP you access Wipe => You can select Swipe to facetory reset in the WIPE screen interface OR select Advance Wipe, and you tick the following 4 items

Cache
Davik / ART Cache
Data
System

=> Then drag Swipe to wipe to delete the old ROM.

=> Next, go back to the main screen of TWRP => select Install => Find the ROM you just copied => then click => then drag Swipe to install

Step 5: Wait for the ROM installation to complete, then click Reboot System to reboot.

Flash Recovery ROMs in Recovery mode using XiaomiADB

  1. Download and unzip XiaomiADB from here.

  2. Download the Recovery ROM you want to flash from here.

  3. Enter MiRecovery by holding power and volume up simultaneously for 5-10 seconds, then select the third option (Connect with MiAssistant / 连接小米助手).

  4. Connect the device to your PC and open a command prompt in the unzipped folder by typing cmd into the address bar and hitting enter.

  5. Type xiaomiadb sideload_miui into the command prompt, then drag and drop the downloaded ZIP on the command prompt window and hit Enter.

  6. Wait until the installation finishes.

  7. Disconnect the device and wait for it to boot in.

    The first boot may take up to 15 minutes.

Flash Fastboot ROMs in Fastboot mode using the Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot Tools

Requirements: unlocked bootloader

  1. Download the Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot Tools from here.

  2. Connect the device in Fastboot mode. 

  3. On the Fastboot tab, in the ROM Downloader module, input the device’s codename, select the branch you’d like to download and click Download ROM.

  4. After the ROM’s been downloaded, unzip it.

    Note: You might get a single .tar file after unzipping which has to be unzipped again in order to get the necessary files.

  5. On the Fastboot tab, in the Flasher module, select the unzipped ROM folder, choose an installation method and click Flash ROM.

  6. Wait until the flashing sequence finishes, then disconnect the device and wait for it to boot in.

    The first boot may take up to 15 minutes.

Flash Fastboot ROMs in EDL mode using MiFlash

  1. Download the latest MiFlash from here and install it.

  2. Launch MiFlash, install the necessary drivers by clicking Driver > Install/Reinstall in the top menu then reboot your PC.

  3. Download the Fastboot ROM you want to flash from here and unzip it.

    Note: You might get a single .tar file after unzipping which has to be unzipped again in order to get the necessary files.

  4. Connect the device to your PC and enter EDL mode 

  5. Launch MiFlash and browse for the unzipped folder by clicking the Select button. Make sure the file path has no spaces in it!

  6. Click Refresh. The device should appear as a COM port.

  7. Click Flash and wait until the flashing sequence finishes.

  8. Disconnect the device and hold the Power button until the device turns on.

    The first boot may take up to 15 minutes.

Flash Recovery ROMs in MIUI

  1. Download the Recovery ROM you want to flash from here.

  2. Use the device to download the ROM or connect it to your PC, enable MTP mode and transfer the downloaded ZIP to it.

  3. Open the Updater app or go to Settings > About phone > System update and browse for the ZIP by tapping options > Choose update package.

  4. Confirm your selection and install the ROM.
